Below is Lake Matheson, the most photographed lake in New Zealand, and with good reason. As soon as the fog lifted for the morning, it is a truly amazing view you get to see twice with the mirror quality lake in front of you. The "View of Views" with the lake and Mt. Cook and Mt. Tasman in the distance:

Lake Matheson is just a quick, 1-mile, hop down the road from the Fox Glacier Township and then a 30 min walk around the lake to enjoy the views. Make sure to go on a clear day.
