Queen Charlotte Sound, New Zealand

The ferry from Wellington to Picton is almost as good an attraction as it is a method of transportation because it sails through some scenic sounds, including the breathtaking Queen Charlotte Sound as it makes its way to Picton. For an even better look, there is the Queen Charlotte Track, one of the Great Treks in New Zealand. Check it out:

Details:
I went to the YHA Wellington across the street from the supermarket near the hostels at 07:00 to take the transfer ($2/3NZD) to the ferry terminal, buy tickets at the YHA reception right before. You can check bags at the ferry terminal and getting aboard is quite painless. The ferry ($28) arrives at 11:35, check the timetable for up-to-date information, I am only quoting the times I rode.
